You might Like This Show if you also Enjoy:
Will & Grace (1998-2006), Mike & Molly (2010- )

Storyline:
Sean Saves the World centers around a gay dad whose teenage daughter recently moved, since his wife decided to take a job in another city. On top of finding his role as a father he has to deal with a controlling mother, a crazy boss, and his own ability to get himself into the most ridiculous situations.

My Review:
Yes, Sean Hayes will always be Jack from Will & Grace, and that’s because his role was memorable and down to perfection. Sean Saves the World has a more mature, less flamboyant version of him, but he is funnier than ever, plus, he has a wonderful and hilarious entourage. The first episode doesn’t do the show any justice, it seemed like the cast was just warming up, because the following episodes are very funny and have plenty of lough out loud moments. It is not a show that you can watch while playing with your phone because it is pure slapstick comparable to Mike and Molly on CBS, which I also happen to love. Actually, when I look at Sean Hayes’ face, I feel like I see a skinny version of Melissa McCarthy, which is not supposed to be an offense, because I think he is a handsome man and she is a beautiful woman.

It grew to me and I am glad I stuck around to see how this show just got funnier and funnier.
This is (as far as I know) the second attempt of the peacock network to release a show with a gay main character after the huge success of Will & Grace. Last year The New Normal – starring a gay couple that hires a surrogate – got cancelled after one full season. Even though I enjoyed it a lot, I think it might have been a little to stereotypical or offensive for some viewers. The future of Sean Saves the World is still uncertain, but I hope it will survive, because I see a lot of potential in this show. However, I do think that the title is a little misleading, I would have rather called it Perfect Sean since he tries to be perfect all the time.

Anyways, Sean Saves the World is a very entertaining show, and I would love to see more of it. Just give it a chance, I am sure it will grow on you, too.
