You might like this Movie if you enjoyed:
Married to The Mob(1988), Mister and Mrs. Smith (2005)

Story:
The Manzonis, a mob family, are relocated to Normandy, France, under the witness protection program. As they are having issues to adapt to their new environment, they attract unwanted attention and soon their hunters are tracking them down.

Review:
The Manzonis are a bad ass family I would not want to mess with, and much rather be their fried. Diana Agron seems a little too old to be a teenager but that doesn’t change the fact that she is playing her part of strong yet vulnerable young woman well. I think the cast is brilliant and I am sad that the movie didn’t get the attention it actually deserves. I am actually hoping for a sequel, but I doubt it will happen. The Family is a fun action movie about a mob family who lives under the witness protection program, and apparently has to change their location regularly because they attract too much attention wherever they go, for example the father (Robert De Niro) has an aggression issue, while his wife – brilliantly played by Michelle Pfeiffer – likes to blow up grocery stores. Even though the children are always the new kids in school they handle themselves extremely well. Like I said they are bad asses and I wished I could be a part of that family.
Watch it, rent it, buy it, and support this awesome movie and great cast.

  1. Good review Simon. My main gripe with this movie is that it never seemed to know what it wanted to be. At times, it tried to be a goofy, dark comedy, then at others, a drama about a family that may be on the verge of getting shot up at any second. The constant jimmering and juggling between tones just never mixed well for me, and made me realize that maybe it’s time for Besson to give it up. He just doesn’t have it anymore.

    • You know I actually liked that mix of mostly comedy with a little bit of suspense and drama at the end. It reminded me of some movies of the 80’s or 90’s. I mean Sister Act for example wasn’t any different… It was mostly comedy, but at the end her Mob-Boss-husband found her and threatened to kill all the nuns and it got very dramatic. I understand that you would have preferred a more straight up concept though. Clever thoughts! 😉 Thanks for commenting, friend!!

  2. Yes, it didn’t get the attention it deserved. It didn’t even release here, but I got the feeling that this going to be one of my favourite families some day! 😀

  3. I thought the trailers of this looked quite cool but no one wanted to see it with me. I think I definitely need to check it out when it makes it to VOD.
