Devious Maids Season 1 Finale Recap – That’s how you do a finale!

vlcsnap-2013-09-23-21h03m16s80So what didn’t happen in this episode of Devious Maids?!
Taylor caught the bullet that was supposed to kill Marisol, and loses the baby. Marisol convinces Michael to tell her the whole truth about Phillipe Delatour, and how he is involved with Flora’s tragic death. Well, as it turns out, he killed her – Surprise, Surprise. After raping Flora, who refused to sleep with him, because she found out that he is Rami’s father, he also killed her, since she threatened to expose him. Her leverage: she carried Rami’s baby and wanted millions to stay quiet about the rape. Apparently, killing her was the cheaper way.
vlcsnap-2013-09-23-21h00m09s255What starts as a beautiful engagement party for Phillipe and Genevieve, ends in a tragedy: Phillipe ends up dead, and known as the murderer of Flora. Marisol’s son is a free man, bu tnow there is someone else’s life on the line. After smuggling Rosie’s son to America, Peri finds out that she is having feelings for Spence, so she tells immigrations about the illegal stay of him. But that’s only half of what happened! 😉 vlcsnap-2013-09-23-21h01m24s238

I am glad to see a show developing in such a fast pace, because that’s what I am looking for: A storyline that progresses instead of building up unnecessary subplots or introducing characters that are just there to ad time. The concept of Devious Maids is like a telenovela, however the characters admit to the intrigues they have been planned pretty fast, so there is no space for dragging and new opportunities for new twists and turns. Devious Maids came from a so and so telenovela style lifetime serious to one of the biggest surprises of this summer. With each episode the story and the characters got deeper and more interesting until the stunning conclusion, and I think I am not the only one who is pleased with it. I will definitely tune back in for season 2.

Season 1 Rating: 7/10
