You might like this movie if you enjoyed:
Child’s Play (1988), Puppet Master (1989), Insidious (2010)

Long Story Short:
After receiving a package with a mysterious puppet in it, Jamie’s wife gets killed. Since it doesn’t look like anybody broke into the apartment, Jamie becomes the main suspect. But he thinks that the puppet might be linked to the tragic incident.

Review:
A movie about puppets that is supposed to be scary? Yes, it is possible. Given the fact that James Wan directed this piece, I knew that it wouldn’t suck, but pulling off a horror movie about puppets that is entirely creepy and not unwantedly funny is hard. Dead Silence shows how it’s successfully done. Yes, it looks a little low- budget, and the dialogues are not always on point, but the mood is right, the cinematography is outstanding, the shock effects are on point, and the actors are convincing enough. On top of that the conclusion is jaw- dropping. As usual James Wan manages to scare his audience with the simplest things, and doesn’t need over the top special effects for that. Turn off the lights, lean back and enjoy. After watching this movie you will not want to have any puppets around you anymore.

Rating: 7.5/10
