Review:
Descent could have been a really great movie, seeing the struggle and metamorphosis of a rape victim turning to drugs but fighting her way back to the real world and taking revenge because there isn’t any other way for her to overcome this event. The characters, however, don’t appear real and honest, and the writing seems rather distant than committed. I am not saying you have to be a rape victim in order to write a great script about it, but at least you should be able to relate to this topic. And I don’t think this was the case here. The atmosphere was very cold and I actually fast forwarded a few times just to make it through the movie. I applaud Rosario Dawson for taking such a role, but unfortunately it didn’t show off her acting skills. It was just really bad.
