Long Story Short: Alex (Jonathon Schaech) and Penny (Pell James) move with their newborn to the countryside to get some piece and quiet. But with the baby being up all night and a construction work in the area they didn’t know about, they can’t seem to get any sleep. When they both keep seeing a strange woman (Lucresha Wells) on their property the couple assumes that it’s just the lack of sleep that makes them hallucinate, so they ignore it. But that is a fatal mistake.
Review: Dark Circles is one of these movies that has big potential, but the way it is played out is totally frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, I jumped in a few moment, some scenes really creeped me out, and the suspense definitely kept me watching, but the dialogues and the couples actions were so frustrating. In every other scene Penny got mad at Alex for doing something and ended her sentence with, ” What is wrong with you?” And why would someone stay in a house when a creepy woman keeps showing up? They did not communicate at all about this woman even though they have both seen her. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. And the conclusion is more like a “Oh, that’s it??!”- moment. This could have been really great but unfortunately it was just average entertainment with decent shock moments. If you want a few good shock moments this will do, but if you are looking for an intelligent story, stay away from it.
