Review:
Psycho is the mother of all Psycho-Thriller, and has set the tone as far as the music and suspense goes. It’s a shame that this project almost got crushed because no major movie production company wanted to risk releasing a movie that for instance showed a toilet flushing for the first time ever – don’t ask me why, but it is the truth. The actors are well engaged, and the atmosphere is creepy and makes you feel uneasy. It has a great camerawork especially the infamous shower scene that is shown from the killer’s point of view. And the music is just everything. If you are not a fan of black and white movies there is a remake from 1998 with Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche, which isn’t quite as good as the original, but still works. If you like Psycho you should definitely watch the movie Hitchcock (2012), which tells the story of how the movie was made.
