Mom – Imagine an Anna Faris Movie as a Sitcom…

cbs-vous-donne-rendez-vous-avec-anna-faris

Category: Comedy
Actors: Anna Faris, Allison Janney, Sadie Calvano, Nate Corddry, Matt Jones
Channel: CBS
Duration: 21 min
Rated: TV-14

First of all, I have to say that I love Anna Faris, she could play a pumpkin and would still be funny. In Mom she plays single mother Christy who is recovering from alcoholism, and trying to get her life back in order. But it is not easy for her, especially when her mother, who used to be a drug addict herself, and was constantly neglecting Christy as a child, shows up out of nowhere. But she wants to make up for her mistakes, or at least says so.

I had at least three laugh- out- loud- moments and the rest was pretty funny, too. Most of the jokes were reserved for Anna Faris so far, but as the first episode progressed the other characters got a few laughs as well. All in all, the show seems very promising to me, and I am glad that Anna Faris finally got her own sitcom. If the show keeps its pace up it could definitely be as successful as 2 Broke Girls. The CBS people were smart and placed Mom right after Max and Carline chasing the dream of opening their own cupcake business. Now we have two things we can look forward to on manic Mondays.

If you liked Anna Faris in The House Bunny or Scary Movie you will enjoy Mom for sure.
