Twisted Episode 8 recap – Why are they dragging the story?

So this is what Happened:
Lacey and Danny are officially a secret couple now, but on one of their secret dates in the woods a group of guys dressed up like Danny on the day he killed his aunt with a jump rope scares them, so Lacey thinks about cooling off things for a while. Jo tries to get over Danny by going on a date with Tyler who everyone in school seems to love. But soon Jo, Danny and Lacey suspect him to be the one who plays these cruel pranks on Danny, so Jo decides to show him the door. Rico opens up to Danny about his feelings for Jo. In the meanwhile the Sheriff tries to get Karen to confess that she threw the necklace in the lake to cover for her son. But things don’t turn out as expected.

I start getting tired of Danny’s excuses of not telling what happened on the day his aunt died. Sure, he says he is trying to protect his friends, but it’s just getting old. They ask him a question, he answers with another question. They confront him with something, he turns everything around and makes them feel guilty for even asking. I get it, he doesn’t want to talk about it, but how about we turn it up a notch? If we had more twists and turns as in, let’s say Revenge, I wouldn’t have a problem, but if we really think about what information we got in eight episodes, it could have actually been told in maybe three. I mean, yes I do want to know what actually happened on the day his aunt died, but it’s not happening enough for me to stick around and watch 1 hour for 5 minutes of progress. ABC FAMILY please hire better writers or stop telling them to drag the story, and ad a subplot instead.
