Long Story Short:
An American Couple living in India are coping with their son’s death, which especially the mother can’t get over. One day she is told about a way to communicate with her son one last time through a closed door at a temple. All she has to do is follow that one instruction not to open the door…

Review:

The Other Side of The Door stands out due to his different setting, however, this doesn’t save the movie. There are too many aspects wrong with it:

The actors try their best to convince the audience with the one dimensional characters and little storyline they were given. The wife doesn’t talk to her husband, the daughter doesn’t seem affected at all by any of the incidents taking place, no one reacts until it’s almost too late. It gets frustrating.

I was hoping the storyline would unravel a little more and show some depth but these days scripts seem rushed, and movies are made to make a quick buck with little to no effort.

While it managed to keep me entertained at some point, I was mainly disappointed, especially since it was rated R. It could have been great, but instead it was another interesting idea turned into another mediocre piece that has been done many times before.

Lower your expectations; then you might actually enjoy it.

    • Yeah sadly the trailer was right. Sometimes I avoid trailers because either they give too much away or give the wrong impression. Prime example: Ghost busters looks okay from trailer one the only thing I don’t get or understand is the fact that they made a reboot meaning the real ghost busters never existed in this version, and a lot of people got pissed about it. The second trailer gives away way too much in my oppinion and didn’t help to make it look better. so now I am not sure whether to watch it or leave it alone lol
