Long Story Short:
Cindy and Dean seemed to have grown apart as a couple. Working different shifts and having a 5-year old daughter doesn’t make it easy to reconnect. But one night they see a chance to go to a motel and work out their problems. But is one night enough to resolve what has built up over many years?
Review:
Blue Valentine starts without any introduction and slowly reveals the story of the two protagonists. It’s a beautiful cut between scenes, however, the actors sometimes seem to hold their poses too long before anything happens which creates beautiful shots, but it simply stretches certain scenes in an unnecessary way. The actors are easy to fall in love with, play their roles very believable, and it is hard not to get emotional with Cindy and Dean. Blue Valentine is a very romantic and sad movie, which is definitely worth a one- time watch if not even more. But beware: It’s not a classic love story that leaves you with butterflies in your stomach.
